Heaven isn't too far away.

Now the lights are going out, along the boulevard, memories come rushing back and makes it pretty hard.
I've got nowhere left to go and no one really cares, I don't know what to do but I'm never giving up on you.
Heaven isn't too far away closer to it every day, no matter what your friends might say we'll find our way.
Rest in peace angel.

Alright 2016, you've made your point, now calm the **** down.

Now I've heard there was a secret chord that David played, and it pleased the Lord but you don't really care for music, do you? It goes like this, the fourth, the fifth, the minor fall, the major lift, the baffled king composing Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, hallelujah...
Your faith was strong but you needed proof, you saw her bathing on the roof her beauty and the moonlight overthrew her. She tied you to a kitchen chair, she broke your throne, and she cut your hair and from your lips she drew the Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, hallelujah...
You say I took the name in vain, I don't even know the name but if I did, well really, what's it to you? There's a blaze of light in every word, it doesn't matter which you heard the holy or the broken Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, hallelujah...
I did my best, it wasn't much, I couldn't feel, so I tried to touch, I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool you. And even though it all went wrong, I'll stand before the Lord of Song with nothing on my tongue but Hallelujah.
Hallelujah, hallelujah...
- Leonard Cohen, 1934-2016, Rest in paradise.

Life is no bed of roses.

No record sharing today. It wouldn't feel right when there is something else on my mind. Something that is making my heart so heavy. I am so devasted really. Broken hearted. Hurt. Angry. Upset. All of the above. I learned that Tom Searle the guitar player of the Architects passed away. At only 28. It hit me like a ton of bricks really. And it still doesn't feel real. I'm still hoping it's a sick joke or a mistake or something. How do you find words at times like these? I know he was an amazing person, not just as an musician but as a human being too. So sweet, so kind, so smart, so handsome, so humble, so talented. This band made me think different and made me realize so many things and now my heart is breaking for them. Life is so unfair and this world is such a horrible dark place. I can't explain the sadness I feel inside. 2016 has been such a horrible year so far and there's just one thing I wish at this point. That it ends. Ends before any more people I look up to and admire die. Tom, you were so strong and so brave and you fought so hard, we are all so proud of you. You made a difference in all our lives and fuck will we miss you. More then you could ever imagine. I hope that wherever you are tonight you can feel all the love and I hope you are resting in peace knowing you will live on through your incredible music. I'm sending all my love to Dan, Sam, Alex and Adam and all the friends and family. My thoughts are with you, I hope you can find some comfort in all this hurt. Rest in paradise Tom. God we will miss you so much...

''I don't know where I'm going from here but I promise it won't be boring''

I've been saying goodbye lately A LOT. And I don't like it one bit. So many private goodbyes that I don't want to talk about right now and so many other goodbyes. From people I like and admire. Like Motley Crue, I know that aint the same but still. And then Scott Weiland. And Lemmy which was painfull and hard to deal with and I'm still not comfortable thinking about the fact that he's gone for good. And then today. David Bowie. I don't have much to say because I'm still shocked. Still processing. I remember the first time I listened to him. I have 3 records my mother gave me. They used to be hers. She bought each same month it came out. I wasn't much of a fan at first, I listened to Tonight and I just felt like it's not his best work. But then I put on Scary Monsters... and that was something else. I don't even know what it was the fact that it somehow for some reason reminded me of Pink Floyd. The voice, the music. I don't know but I loved it. Over the years he was always in my itunes playlists. I remember watching ''The perks of being a wallflower'' with my friends and being literally the only one who knew the ''tunnel song''. It just happened to be one of my favorites by Bowie. Today I'm angry and sad and broken. I wish everyone was vampires and immortal. I know in a way they all are. I know they live on through their music but that's not really the same. It's not just an artist you lose, it's an extraordinary human being, family, a friend. And it's sad as hell. The heavens and the stars will look very different today. Rest easy Starman you will be missed tremendously. Hope you and Freddie are together again, having fun up there watching us idiots suffer here. Truth to be told heaven's got most of the best musicians by now. Thank you for everything, rest in peace.
And we can be heroes just for one day.

Lemmy has left the building.

I sat here last night, writing about James but I had no idea I'll be doing the same tonight. Y'all probably heard that Lemmy of Motorhead passed away. I can't say I was surprised, just shocked, sad, heartbroken. Devastated. Completly stunned I suppose. Sad day for not only rock n roll and metal world but music in general. Motorhead and Lemmy inspired so many musicians...this is just a horrible loss for everyone. I guess this is such a shock because he seemed indestructable. In a world of chaos, they, him, always stayed the same. A rock n roll god and holy fuck we're going to miss that. That voice, that personality, that amazing person behind the music. He was one of the few remaining real rockstars, he rocked hard and partied harder, never drank water only whiskey and coke and yet behind it all was a very wise man, a man we could all learn something from. The world is going to be a lot quieter, lonlier and sadder from now on but the sky will shine a little brighter. There will never be another one like him because he was one of a kind and he'll be missed. So guys, put on Ace of spades real fucking loud make sure the neighbors can hear it too, pour yourself some whiskey and enjoy the moment in his honor, because he truly is a legend and a legend like him should be honored the right way. Rest in power Lemmy, and keep on raising hell wherever you are. Thank you for everything.
