Just me and my old blue jeans.
Just to keep things interesting I decided to do something different today. Once again. You figured out by now that I love music right? And art, and art history and regular history. So when all that blends into one I'm probably the happiest person on the planet. Well that was a bit over the top, I never was the happiest person and I probably never will be but you get the general idea right?
Some saturday mornings I manage to get out of bed at a semi normal hour *cough ten am cough* and what's better on such morning then a little arts and culture and such? The source of my happiness this week was a new museum exhibition in our local ''museum of modern history''. I spend quite a lot of time there, they have this permanent exhibition called ''Living in Celje'' which is a tribute to our city, there's this chronological overview of the 20th century history of the city and the people. And my absolute favorite thing the actual street with tiny old shops on the second floor, reconstructed as they once were and you can walk through the street, looking at shop windows, a market and a middle class apartment.
All that aside there's a different exhibition this post is going to be about. A temporary one. They have plenty of those, out of which I basically saw all. This one is called ''Jeans generation'' popular culture of this town from jeans to cellphones. It's a variety of objects popular with basically everyone since the 50's and up to today. It's not just things though, it's also a story of what life was like here, what growing up was like here. And of course this relationship with the popculture and it's movments, and ties to what was going on in the world at the time.
This is what it says at the begining;
Dear visitor,
if you are wearing a piece of denim or if you carry a cell phone, then a tour of this exhibition will go beyond being a mere journey from the first pair of jeans to your mobile phone; rather, you will become a part of the show as you actively contribute to it and continiue the story of Celje's popular culture. In a way, you will be the show. As you will soon find, this is not only an exhibition about Celje's popular culture, but also an exhibition about you, your experiences, your music, your favorite piece of clothing, your favorite book and film, perhaps your first and maybe even the last app downloaded to your smartphone. This is an exhibition about the past and the present, and about a variety of topics intertwining and completing each other to create an all embracing story about the popular culture of Celje.
P.S.: Photos, selfies, use of social networks, commenting, likes etc. are allowed at this exhibition.
WI-FI IS AVAILABLE - BUT WE STILL ENCOURAGE YOU TO TALK TO EACH OTHER INSTEAD. ;)
That last one made me giggle. Hah. Now back to the point, I really loved it, not just because it's so me it made me feel like I should stand in a corner as part of the exhibition but also because it was amazing seeing all the old tickets for music festivals, some long gone but some that are still going on today which I'm now a part of as well. And it was also a nice memory of things we all miss, such as this really great club, it was called ''Kljub'' which is a brilliant name because not only it means ''club'' in our language but also because it's shortened of the word ''kljubovati'' which means to oppose or to defy. It was opened in 1965 for a short period of time my grandmother worked there as an event planner. Who would of thought? During the 80's and later it was transformed into this place of socializing and just a get away of a sorts for all kinds of creativity and different alternative cultures. It was unfortunally closed down in 2005. Tragic day that was I tell you...
I really enjoyed the exhibition, it's a perfect blend of the old and new, funny how some things come back and some never leave they just...adapt to modern times...here are some pictures, enjoy,...
P.S. Should I worry that the outfit on that second picture might as well be stolen from my own closet?
The exhibition is located in Museum of modern history in Celje, Slovenia and will be open until September 2017. If you're around come check it out.

Our love is real.
I could never really put into words the last couple of days. They were...woah. I've been in Milan so many times and I never saw the church. THE church. And on tuesday I finally made it there. After getting lost...a couple of times. Hah. Undergrounds can be a challenge if you have to change trains and if you don't have them at home. We made it though! But here's the thing I was nervous the entire time, looking over my shoulder. The ammount of army, heavily armed, walking up and down the town square...it's downright terrifying. I get it you know. Safety first but fuck it's scary. Hell I lived next to an army base and rarely saw any army at all now they're patroling the streets and doing body checks at the church. At times like this it becomes real. The treath. The fact that we don't live in a safe world anymore. And I hate it. Freedom is something all people deserve it's their right and something - someone taking that away...should be the worst kind of crime there is.
Either way. The church is amazing. When you walk in all you can really do is gasp, the architecture, the stain glass windows, the music playing inside...woah. It's amazing. Artisticly speaking of course not religiously...
But that was not even the highlight of my week. It was the concert later on. I always knew concerts in Milan are special. Ever since I saw Bon Jovi at San Siro stadium I knew. There's something about Italian crowd, the fan clubs and actions, the way musicians just love Italy. There's something very special between bands and Italy. A special bond. It's pretty cool not going to lie. It was hot. Hot as hell. Prancing around the stadium in the heat was a bit of a torture... I respect the fans that were there on the heat for hours to get the front row. Dedication at it's finest. Props to you guys. I'm still waiting for my chance to have the front row seats and maybe touch ''God'' someday. Ha ha. I had amazing seats I can't complain. All thanks to my concert guy, he always gets best tickets and there's no words to describe how thankful I am for him. So Boss was on time started a little over eight and played almost four hours. He is amazing. Beyond amazing he is just...I don't even know perfect? Divine? The connection he has with his audience...he took a lot of requests from the front rows. And I do mean A LOT. And it never fails to amaze me how when he says ''shhh'' the entire stadium of what 70 000 people falls silent? The control he has over all of us...amazing. And then the band...the band! Not just a band but literally the band. He has to have some of the best musicians on the planet because his heart-stopping, pants-dropping, love-making, earth-quaking, Viagra-taking, legendary E Street band is beyond words. No words do them justice. Baby Clemons is insanely talented, both guitars and the piano, such perfection. I found myself sitting with open mouth staring barely believeing what I'm seeing. And then there's that song...that one song that I believe changed everything. Not just generally but for me too. I feel like if I loved him before that song made it official and forever. Which one? The River of course. It's just...so perfect and hearing it live was surreal. I was actually sitting down in a daze and there were some tears in my eyes when he fell silent and every single person on the stadium sang with him. It's just something you can't describe you have to see it for yourself. Like a friend of mine said ''once you see the Boss you know you fucked up for life because you'll never enjoy another concert as much and one will never be enough''. Well he's fucking right, nobody comes near the Boss and two times that I was blessed enough to see him wasn't nearly enough. Tickets cost a small fortune that much is true but he is worth every single cent because it's not just music it's not just an evening it's an experience an event, it can change your views on life, the world. I know he made a huge impact on me, changed me, and because of his music I look at some things a lot different then I would without him. And I'm thankful you know...take a look at the world, at all the lifetimes, the years, the ''era's'' and yet I was blessed enough to live the same time as him. Forever thankful for that. Now I'm rambling aren't I? Point is I love a lot of music but nobody has or will ever have Bruce's part in my heart. It's special and all his. Bottom line, Bruce thank you so much for this experience, for this magical night. It was amazing and I'll never forget it. Thank you. For everything you give us.
Now I'd just like to take a quick moment for something that y'all probably already saw. I'm late to the party. BUT! Steven Adler preformed two songs on stage with Guns n' Roses. And I can not express how happy I am. Part of it is selfish because there's nothing I'd want more then ALL of the boys back for good but most of it it's happiness for him. I knew he wanted this. He deserves it and I couldn't wipe the huge smile off my face watching him smiling while playing. He looked so happy and I was just...estatic. I'm so proud of you Stevie, life wasn't easy but you made it through and honestly you are my inspiration to be better.
Picture says a thousand words they say and I believe this one says even more. I'm so happy you're back Stevie and I sure hope you're here to stay.
Alright guys. Enjoy the weekend see you on monday for more ramblings about my favorite music! Stay safe.

Are we even human why does this room feel like outer space?
I've been feeling paranormal when you and I are standing face to face, when the worlds collide two hearts one mind close encounters of the very best kind every time. Are we even human why do we feel so out of place?
Should I be thankful I'm sick after the concert or can I be pissed I'm sick at all? Damnit this is the worst possible time for me to be sick. I've got so much studying still left to do I aint got no time to be sick. Not to mention this sore throat will be the death of me. Hurts like a mother fucker. Also lying sick in bed with my laptop isn't an ideal situation for anyone, not my tumblr account, not my bank account and definatelly not for the fact I can fall into another binge watching of another tv show I had never heard of before. Maybe this is the right time to finally start watching the Game of thrones and Shadowhunters. Sounds like a plan alright. Though I am convinced if there's a god above he hates me. There's a club concert in town tomorrow. A band called Reckless Roses is playing. They're a tribute band for Guns N' Roses and this is the third fucking time I'm missing out on them for whatever reason. What kind of karma is that? Who does that? How is that even fair? And then there's my family ''you saw Simple plan be happy'' or ''you're seeing Alice Cooper stop complaining'' uh for real? I mean I am happy and grateful but come on you can't just...jesus christ! Of course I'm not happy I'm gonna be home, sick on a saturday night. I rarely go out because there's rarely anything even interesting to me happening around and the one time it is..well this happens. I might as well crawl back to my bed and sob in misery. Life really is unfair. Not to mention I'm just really tired and done with the world. But hey in good news I had an art history exam yesterday, still mentally kicking my ass for not knowing the 20th century artists better but well I got about 89% on the test, should be happy about that huh? Specially after I studied maybe two hours. I couldn't focus at all partly because how can you focus after a concert like the one on sunday night? Jesus christ that smile...and partly because dates are boring and I was already comming down with this stupid flu or whatever it is feeling like hell not being able to concentrate. I guess it's true I'll never be good at math and geography or chemistry but at least I'm good in art, history and music. Should count for something don't you think? Shadowhunters looks promising, just saw the trailer and also a new episode of the Vikings is on. Should keep me busy for a while. Nothing like lying in bed with a zebra plush blanket surrounded by pictures of all your favorite boys and a good tv show. Maybe being sick aint so bad after all. Who am I kidding it's terrible. Uh. I sure hope your weekend goes better then mine will...I'll just, wallow in misery with my favorite boys they're the only thing making me happy to be fair...
Yup happy happy happy. Oh right! I forgot there's a new band I totally love! Y'all should go check it out, they're called Santa Cruz, they kinda remind of We Are Harlot. Really good. So yeah check em out, learn it, live it, love it and I'll see you on monday. Cheers guys, stay safe or better yet stay healthy ;)
